List ManagementYour email list may be a part of your customer database. Or you may have a signup form on your website for sending newsletters. In any case, good list management has several components. Getting them to work together can be challenging, and PopMonger can help. You may have a form where your customers can update their preferences for receiving email from you. If this form is not tied directly into a database through your server, you may need some way to get that information from your customers into your database. You can use a number of technologies to put up a form on your website. Mach5 Subscriber, for example, provides integrated web based list management functions. But you may want to manage the data from this form yourself. You can use email to get the information from your web server into your database. Just set up a form to send email to a designated address, and use PopMonger to check that address and process the requests. You can set up a designated email address for subscribe requests and a separate one for unsubscribe requests. That way, you don't have to worry about the message content to interpret the meaning of the message. Alternatively, if you only have one address you want to provide your customers in conjunction with your mailings, you can have your web form submit a special subject, and have PopMonger look for that subject and interpret the message as a subscription request or unsubscribe request accordingly. PopMonger provides two capabilities in the Task Wizard to help with List management. You can manage unsubscribe requests You can manage subscribe requests with optional confirmation.
