Run Popmonger as a Service
Under Windows 2000/XP/2003, PopMonger 3 can be run as a system service. This allows PopMonger to run in the background without requiring a user to login. Once the system is booted, PopMonger will be running.
Once the download completes, browse to the file, and run the PopMongerService.exe file.
Click on the 'Install' button on the window that appears. A text based wizard will lead you through the install process
Uninstalling the PopMonger Service
Browse to the C:\reskit directory that was created during the install. Click PopRem.bat. Follow the onscreen instructions.
Once the uninstall is complete, you may remove the C:\reskit directory
Possible Hiccups
The PopMonger as a Service install assumes that you have installed PopMonger in its default location at
C:\Program Files\Mach5 Mailer 4\POPMonger.exe
If you changed the default install location while installing PopMonger, the PopMonger service installation will be unable to complete. To properly create a service with PopMonger.exe in a different directory, right click and edit the Param.reg file located at
C:\reskit
and change following line
C:\\Program Files\\Mach5 Mailer 4\\POPMonger.exe
to properly reflect your PopMonger install location. Make sure you retain the doubled slashes. Save the edited file and run PopAdd.bat located in
