Run Popmonger as a Service

Under Windows 2000/XP/2003, PopMonger 3 can be run as a system service. This allows PopMonger to run in the background without requiring a user to login. Once the system is booted, PopMonger will be running.

Install PopMonger as a Service

  • Download and Install Mach5 PopMonger 3 if you have not already.
          Download Mach5 Popmonger 3

  • Download the PopMonger as a Service installation file.
          Download PopMonger as a Service

  • Once the download completes, browse to the file, and run the PopMongerService.exe file.

  • Click on the 'Install' button on the window that appears. A text based wizard will lead you through the install process
  • Uninstalling the PopMonger Service

  • Browse to the C:\reskit directory that was created during the install. Click PopRem.bat. Follow the onscreen instructions.

  • Once the uninstall is complete, you may remove the C:\reskit directory
  • Possible Hiccups

The PopMonger as a Service install assumes that you have installed PopMonger in its default location at

    C:\Program Files\Mach5 Mailer 4\POPMonger.exe
If you changed the default install location while installing PopMonger, the PopMonger service installation will be unable to complete. To properly create a service with PopMonger.exe in a different directory, right click and edit the Param.reg file located at
    C:\reskit
    and change following line
    C:\\Program Files\\Mach5 Mailer 4\\POPMonger.exe
to properly reflect your PopMonger install location. Make sure you retain the doubled slashes. Save the edited file and run PopAdd.bat located in
    C:\reskit
The install should now progess without errors.
